IACUC eSirius Protocol Assistance Workshops

The IACUC office offers monthly eSirius help sessions/workshops/labs for researchers who are planing to, or are in the process of, submitting new protocols, amendments, annual reviews and three-year renewals in eSirius.

IACUC staff and a member of the CARE Veterinary staff will be on hand to provide assistance in the following areas:

• Answering questions about the information required in each section of the protocol;
• Addressing reviewer questions/comments appropriately;
• Navigation in eSirius;
• Providing guidance on veterinary issues (pain and distress, drugs, dosages, pre- and post-operative care); and
• Answering questions about training, AUHSP and other IACUC related topics.

You are invited to take advantage of these opportunities to get hands-on specific assistance for your protocol and amendments. Doing so will most likely reduce the amount of rework on everyone's part and the overall cycle time for approval for submissions, and increase the comfort level for you and your research staff with eSirius in managing the continuum of approval on your animal use protocols. It will also help the IACUC staff better understand the nature of the issues that researchers experience when working with eSirius for their protocols/amendments and allow the IACUC to develop better mitigation solutions and strategies.

All workshop locations have wireless Internet connections. Researchers should bring their own laptop.
